Course Description:
This course builds upon Facilities Management and the Environment of Care 101 by further explaining the reasons for the multiple differences between health care facilities and other building occupancy types. Participants will learn common terms and definitions associated specifically with the Environment of Care as well as basic code requirements for various building elements and equipment.

- Communicate the “why” or reason behind healthcare codes and standards
- Define various code-related terminology
- List critical code-related points for specific components, devices, and equipment
