    Course Description:

    HAI Prevention 201 teaches how infection can manifest and spread through air or water contamination. Participants will learn the fundamentals of psychrometrics, how to monitor pressure relationships and air properties to prevent contamination or infection, and how to follow best practices for water management, testing, and treatment.

     

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Respond to HVAC system operating issues and failures that increase the risk of healthcare-associated infections
    2. Respond to utility failures that increase the risk of healthcare-associated infections
    3. Respond to hydronic system operating issues and failures, including leaks, that increase the risk of healthcare-associated infections
