Now this is how you test duct detectors
Duct detectors are a big passion of mine because they are the most improperly tested fire alarm device based on my experience.
To give you an example, I personally went and tested all the dampers and duct detectors in a new hospital 1-year after occupancy. 100% of the duct detectors failed! That’s right 100%! All for various reasons discussed in this video. They are all fixed now, but it took the company several months to fix them.
So make sure your business partners are protecting your occupants and your building and they are installing and testing your duct detectors properly.
