What is TJC?

TJC stands for The Joint Commission, one of the major accrediting organizations (AOs) in the United States. They perform hospital surveys on behalf of The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure hospitals maintain compliance with federal law.

They currently cover over 22,000 healthcare facilities in the United States.

Note that hospitals are able to pick what accrediting organization they wish to work with.
